| It has been sometime in the
planning surrounded with some scheming and
subterfuge, however this surprise bash for Flt Lt
Mike Stones was just the ticket to give him the send
off he deserved! It was a delight to see his
reaction to all those who had gathered to celebrate
both his past achievements, and new appointment as
Number 3 Welsh Wing's BTEC and D of E Officer.
Amongst the distinguished guests were the Regional
Commandant Group Captain Allen and Officer
Commanding Number 3 Welsh Wing, Wing Commander
Wilson. We were also superbly supported by
Officers and staff throughout Number 3 Wing, members
of his family, friends and of course all his cadets
from 499 Squadron. Flt Lt Stones will parade
as OC 499 Squadron for the last time on Tuesday
April 20th 2010. |

David Thomas and his wife Helen for planning and
co-ordinating the event, and all those who supported
